Wow, it’s day 7! (If you have no clue about what I’m talking about…just scroll down and you’ll get the picture!) 🙂
The card I’m sharing today is the last card I received from dad. They sent this card to me when I was in Washington… Less than a year later, dad passed away. So this card is very very very special to me…
My favorite line here is… “I find it hard to believe you are already twenty three and a mom to be….” I guess at this point it was all sinking in. His little girl was gonna be a mommy… Before I left for the states I taught dad how to email so that we could keep in touch. So every week, he would go to an internet shop and write me lengthy emails that would leave me in tears. Being away from dad was one of the toughest things to deal with while I was pregnant….but writing to each other every week was one of the things that kept me going… Reading his emails and talking to him on the phone every now and then felt like we were hugging…. like this…
Oh, I just remembered what my cousin Dan and I were up to the evening of august 19, 2004! Dan and I went to a beach that had like lots of bonfire spots. We walked along the beach and talked all night as we sat around a bonfire. Then at midnight, we went to Denny’s — one of my favorite places on the planet!!! (I grew up going from one Denny’s resto to another when dad would take us to the states!) Dan said that they usually have birthday meals if you could present an ID proving that it really was your birthday….but when we got there, they told us that they didn’t do those treats anymore 😦 …but since I loooooove Denny’s..we ate there anyways — and that’s when the clock struck 12…. Owie at Denny’s, 23, and a mom to be!
Speaking of being a mom to be… here are some of preggy photos I found last week. 🙂
I loved being pregnant!!!!!
I think I really learned to appreciate birthdays more when I gave birth to my son. I’ve come to a point where I believe birthdays are about celebrating love and of course, the day we came into this world — and changed the lives of the people around us FOREVER!!! hahaha 🙂
And now…just like how I featured my last card for this series, here’s my last kiddie photo for this series too…
Another birthday cake for my 5th birthday, this time in manila. And yes, my cake has mu full name, Josephine Burns!! haha 🙂
Wow! That’s about it! Thank you for following this series and taking this nostalgic trip with me, to celebrate life, love and birthdays!!!! 🙂
